This is a photograph of “I Have Spoken” (mounted on a beige wall), which is made up of 36 individual speech bubbles printed on clear acrylic with UV flexo ink and then laser cut — total dimensions for this configuration are 65” X 45”. No framing is required as each piece mounts easily on the wall using the 3 M Command velcro strips (included). The smallest piece in this collage is 7” across while the largest is 23” across. Depending on the configuration, the dimensions of this collage can be altered and the individual pieces can be uniquely mounted to fit different spaces.
This piece represents creativity, both the possibilities of thought (one leading to another) and the burden of creating something new (filling all those empty speech bubbles!). As these are based on speech bubbles from comic books in the 1950s, this piece also represents how the past can continue to speak to us in the present.
